Award for La muë (2024)

Winners of the Best 2024 Lithuanian Compositions: Dainora Aleksaitė, Justina Repečkaitė, Mārtiņš Viļums, Dominykas Digimas, and Žibuoklė Martinaitytė.

"La muë" (2024) for serpent, children’s choir, and electronics has been awarded in Lithuania as part of the 2024 Lithuanian Composers’ Works of the Year. Premiered at IRCAM in Paris, the work will also be featured on Justina’s upcoming portrait album “Tappestries”!

Premiered on the 27th of April, 2024 at salle Espro, IRCAM, by the serpent player Patrick Wibart, Les Pages of CMBV conducted by Clement Buonomo and the Ircam team: the computer music designer João Svidzinski and sound engineer Jérémie Bourgogne. Co-commissioned by IRCAM - Centre Pompidou and the Center of Baroque Music Versailles - CMBV.

The Lithuanian Composers’ Union has been organizing the Works of the Year Awards annually since 2003. The competition prizes are sponsored by the Association LATGA. The Audience Choice Award is sponsored by the Music Information Centre Lithuania. The media partner is LRT KLASIKA. The activities of the Lithuanian Composers’ Union are partially funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
